SEC Lines: The Sixth Week, Power Week Posted: 07 Oct 2009 01:23 PM PDT SEC Lines: The Sixth Week, Power WeekThis is it. The best week of SEC based football that you will see this year. We have three spectacular games. Two you know about, and one that’s big for the Malzahn family. And after last week? With a five and one record to jumpstart me back up to 24-13? I am fired up and ready to go. South Carolina -10 vs. Kentucky Again, it’s not something personal. And it’s for an Occam’s razor sort of logic. Trevard Lindley is out. Kentucky has a tendency to give turnovers. I love Randall Cobb, but this week does not belong to Big Blue. Houston +2.5 @ Mississippi State Just because the defense no-showed last week doesn’t mean that the offense isn’t still a force of nature. Case Keenum did evberything in his power to keep Houston’s hopes alive. And while Mississippi State does have a decent offense, they have the bad luck to get the Cougars the week after the no show. If Josh Nesbitt can look like a professional quarterback? Someone with real talent will rock an offense. Georgia -1.5 @ Tennessee An open letter to Las Vegas. Why is Tennessee still a favorite? Jonathan Crompton is still the starting quarterback. That being said? The turnover sequence of Syracuse and South Florida has an excellent chance of being repeated here. And that will be fun if you have no stakes in the game. That being said. Joe Cox will throw a dart to young A.J. Green, it will win it for Georgia. Vanderbilt -11 @ Army Army is slightly better than Rice. Vanderbilt won by 19 at Rice. They should win by 14 here. I know, it sounds half assed, but I’m trying something here. LSU +9 @ Florida I’m either going to look like a genius or an idiot with this, but bear with me. It’s in Baton Rouge. It’s at night. And LSU has Les Miles. That means two things. One? Crazy happens. He does not have a governor on his inner 13 year old playing Madden. And two? He lost by 30 last year. He wants to fight. Auburn -3 @ Arkansas Remember? This is the one that Gus Malzahn wants most of all. He’s going to try for 50. And with the defensive situation on Arkansas. Auburn has an excellent shot to get that milestone. That being said? Arkansas may still get to 40. But Malzahn-mania is made of win. Alabama -6.5 @ Ole Miss Here’s the deal, the offense of Ole Miss is kind of hack. Jevan’s been a no show in terms of his expectations. And Alabama’s Defense is most definitely Dangeresque. Basically, Alabama will generate a pass rush, force some turnovers, and win with relative ease. ![]() I wonder if JaMarcus is going to break out the Cosby sweater Saturday Night? |
