Florida vs. Cincinnati, 2009 Sugar Bowl, Prediction Pick Posted: 22 Dec 2009 11:48 PM PST
My instinct is that this will be a tremendous sendoff for the Gator senior class. You have a team in flux that just might be coached by a Bill Doba impersonator. (Look it up.) And this team got to unbeaten by a lot more crook than anybody in the class of unbeaten. That being said? I’ll save my final analysis for the end of the post. Maybe I’ll change my mind. After all, while the numbers the Brandon Spikes led defense put up this year were mostly tremendous? The non-Alabama team that gave Florida the largest amount of trouble was a high-powered passing attack with a big-armed quarterback. And if you think Arkansas’ offense is good? The Bearcats are better. 6th in scoring, 6th in Passing, 6th in total offense. Pike to Gilyard is too good to be cast asunder by the coaching change. And if you think Carlos Dunlap is going to change that? You may be sorely mistaken. Cincy may be flawed? But it has nothing to do with their offensive line. 11 sacks allowed all year. Steve Addazio is going to have to put up some points if they don’t want to be embarrassed. Here’s why Florida should be fine. In the last month of the season, Cincy got gashed for 45, 36, and 44 points. And in two of those games? They had to make furious rallys to win. And as this is going to be the last moment Tim Tebow will have as a collegian so darn the torpedoes, he’s gonna leave everything out on the field? That bodes well. Brandon James would help? But they should be fine. The X-Factor for this game? Isaiah Pead. He is the Bearcats leading rusher. He gets rolling and the Bearcats have a real chance at getting the co-National Championship. (YOU HEARD ME!) But, suffice it to say, it doesn’t look like a super hyper mega action force blowout. Just something like Florida 38, Cincinnati 27. |
