SEC Against the Spread Week 2 Edition
So yeah, week 1 did not go according to most plans for the SEC. Sure Florida and LSU won. But the margins were by no means sound. And when you add to that the greatest collapse in the history of the SEC because of Ole Miss? Week 1 did not go so well.
And Mississippi State shows that they’re gonna be scrappy all dang year. Mario Diaz called a hack of a game. As to Saturday?
University of South Florida Bulls vs Florida Gators -16.5
I’m not feeling a trap game for the Gators. The exchange issues will be solved. Addazio may not be calling a brilliant sort of game? And Urban Meyer is not above scoring the padding touchdown. So say Florida 35 South Florida 17.
Georgia Bulldogs vs South Carolina Gamecocks -2.5
As these games usually go down? It’s usually something along the lines of a 14-10 game, not last years ridiculous shootout. But when you consider the NCAA is letting South Carolina get ineligible players back, but A.J. Green is still out? Take Cocky.
LSU -10.5 vs Vanderbilt
LSU still doesn’t look like one of the elites. You cannot let North Carolina rally using the passing game and call yourself good. But Vanderbilt had what could be it’s most game effort of the year last week. I don’t trust LSU getting that many points. Vandy covers.
Oregon Ducks -13.5 vs Tennessee Volunteers
New Mexico is freaking terrible, and Knoxville will have energy for as long as they’re in the game. So anybody who things this could be a 56-10 blowout is nuts. That being said? A strong running team versus a wounded defensive line means Oregon will get 42. Tennessee will not get to 30.
Penn State Nittany Lions vs Alabama Crimson Tide -12.5
Penn State is not a trap game. They’re good. But they are not great. They lose to Iowa a lot. And remember, Trent Richardson is still really good at running the football. The Crimson Tide will get 5 touchdowns. Alabama gets 3. The field goal makes it 38-21 Bama.
ULM Warhawks vs. Arkansas Razorbacks -34
Easy enough for the Razorbacks. They won’t put the throttle down again and ULM will score a late touchdown to lose by 31. I’m thinking 48-17?
Western Kentucky Red Drank vs. Kentucky Wildcats -24
Take Kentucky. Take the points. Long live the cupcake game.
Ole Miss Rebels -21 vs. Tulane Green Wave
In 2007, Michigan had to roll up and find their way against Oregon. It didn’t work. Tulane is a lot easier. And the defense looks scary bad. Ole Miss should win. They should cover. But that’s what I said last week.
