SEC Facts, Figures, and New Narratives Posted: 06 Oct 2010 12:51 PM PDT
First of all, congratulations to Alabama for establishing a glass floor upon which all other teams rest below. They took Florida behind the woodshed and mercifully ended the misery of the Florida Gators. Steve Addazio still takes pride in his 5 yards per game rush average. Without Jeff Demps? That would be about 2.8 yards per game. Second of all? Georgia may not be going to a bowl game. In fact, Mark Richt may not be able to last the year. At this point, they may only be favored to beat only Vanderbilt. And when you lose the barn painters? You know you’re in trouble. (h/t: Friends of the Program) Third? Remember how in 2008, the Big 12 North was a useless appendage to the Big 12 South? You’ll find out this week that any and all gravitas of the SEC goes toward the Mississippi River. South Carolina is going to get crushed this week. I’ll explain further in another post. Fourth? In a post Denard Robinson world, Cameron Newton is ninja-like in his awesome. Only those who he has struck down know and appreciate his power. There has to be a game or two where he’ll hit the 200/200 milestone. And as such they’re still the team most likely to break Alabama’s hegemony. Why LSU won’t get it done? Look at the photo above. One of the single freakiest penalties of all time. That’s how they had to win. Alabama, Arkansas, and or Auburn will stop them from running the SEC West. |
