Bowl Game First Impressions.

In a world where a 6-6 Washington gets to go to one of the marquee December bowl games, filling 10 slots is an impressive thing for the SEC. I’ll go in further depth with these games throughout the month, but that being said? There’s no rule that says I can’t briefly discuss all matters SEC Bowl, for right now.

Music City Bowl: Tennessee vs. North Carolina (A step up in weight class for Tyler Bray, but this is a shell of a defense that the Tar Heels was supposed to have.)

Liberty Bowl: Georgia vs. Central Florida (A part of UCF’s skill set is their ability to make touchdowns via defense and special teams. A major weakness is that they’ve been able to be thrown on in recent weeks. And Murray to Green is definitely a step up.)

Chik-Fil-A Bowl: South Carolina vs. Florida State (A real chance for Alshon Jeffrey to shine brightly. South Carolina’s history of not caring about bowl games is something to worry about, though.)

Outback Bowl: Florida vs. Penn State (To borrow a phrase from Pro Wrestling commentator Jim Ross, this is gonna be bowling shoe ugly.)

Gator Bowl: Mississippi State vs. Michigan (The Bulldogs defense may have been exposed as their schedule got tougher, but that being said, Michigan’s defense once had a 4th quarter where a strong running team didn’t pass for 29 straight plays. They didn’t have to punt either. Chris Reif will look much like Cam Newton.)

Sugar Bowl: Arkansas vs. Ohio State (I know, SEC SPEEEEEEEEEEEEED and whatnot. But while I do enjoy the skills of Knile Davis and Ryan Mallett, Ohio State’s defense is the best challenge that they’ve faced all year. 3rd in scoring defense, second in total defense.)

Cotton Bowl: LSU vs. Texas A&M (This will either be an inexplicable 31-28 game or a 13-9 game where Les Miles testicles hit on a big play. A&M’s defense got great after Jerrod Johnson stopped having an opportunity to throw three picks.)

BBVA Compass Bowl: Kentucky vs. Pittsburgh (It all depends on the offense the Wannstache decides to run. Will he think Tino Sunseri a good enough quarterback to win on his own? Or will he try to run Dion Lewis 45 times again? His brain makes my head hurt.)

BCS Championship Game: Auburn vs. Oregon (The over is 74 points. I get the sense that this game is going to hit the over. But that being said? This game’s going to get a lot of talk. And I’ll bring it out for you soon enough.)
